At St. Leonard’s R.C. Primary School we recognise that all pupils are entitled to a quality of provision which will enable them to achieve their potential regardless of their specific need or personal circumstances. As we believe are all unique in terms of our characteristics, interests, abilities, motivation and learning needs. St Leonard’s has a learning support programme and the aim of that is to support and enable pupils to fulfil their potential.

Our school recognises there are particular groups of pupils whose circumstances may require additional consideration by those who work with them to support their special educational need or disability. We maintain the principles of fairness and equity across our entire curriculum, in all aspects of the school day and in after school activities.

Children with special needs follow a provision map and an individual education plan which is agreed and reviewed with parents and carers. Where appropriate, some children have an Education, Health and Care Plan, which is developed in conjunction with parents and carers, partner professionals and the local authority.

If you think your child may have a special educational need please contact their class teacher or the SENCO Miss McVittie.
